National Day and Founding Day gift ideas
Gifts for Saudi National Day and Founding Day are light and shared rather than personal: chocolate passed round the department, balloons dressing the majlis, or a vase of flowers in the colours of the flag. Do not know their taste? Within one budget on Haddiyah, choose 2 to 8 gifts; they keep one and set the spot and time. National Day on 23 September and Founding Day on 22 February have become two occasions when people exchange gifts: between colleagues at the office, within the family, and for the house itself when it is decorated. The ideas here are grouped by whom the gift is for, all from congratulations gifts.
For the office: chocolate shared round the department
The National Day gift among colleagues is chocolate or sweets opened at the office on the last day before the holiday. A large box from the department covers everyone, delivered in the morning slot while all are in. See congratulations chocolate.
For the house: balloons that dress the majlis
Balloons are the National Day decoration at home: colours, numbers and letters for the year or a name, delivered inflated and ready. Order them with a vase or chocolate in the same order. See balloons.
A vase in the colours of the flag
White flowers with greenery are the National Day arrangement: a vase that sits in the majlis over the holiday and greets the guests. Founding Day leans to earthy colours and gold. See congratulations vases.
For family far away
National Day is a holiday with everyone at home, so it is the moment to reach your family with a gift from another city: a vase for your mother's majlis, chocolate for your father's guests. They set the time themselves from the link. See gifts for mothers and for fathers.
For friends: something light
Between friends the gift is light, with a card wishing the country well: a small cake, a box of chocolate, or a white bouquet. See congratulations gifts for friends.
Before you send
- Order the office gift the day before the holiday, because the day itself is off and the offices are empty.
- Green and white are the National Day colours: in bouquets and vases look for white with greenery, in balloons for green and gold.
- A gift for family in another city reaches them in Riyadh and Jeddah at a time they set, and on the national holiday everyone is home.
- Founding Day has its own character: earthy colours and gold, traditional sweets and coffee rather than cake.
- Founding Day 2027 falls in Ramadan; see when is Founding Day.
