When is Founding Day 2027? Gift ideas for it in Ramadan
Founding Day is Monday 22 February 2027, which is 15 Ramadan 1448 by the Umm al-Qura calendar (expected). It is a public holiday that falls in mid-Ramadan this year, so the gift goes to staff before the holiday, to an iftar host or to family and children over the school break. Not sure of their taste? Let them choose from 2 to 8 gifts and they set the place and time in Riyadh and Jeddah. For Founding Day ideas outside Ramadan, see National Day and Founding Day gift ideas.
Founding Day gifts for staff before the holiday
Office hours in Ramadan are fasting hours, so a gift for the staff is not opened at the office. Choose chocolate or sweets shared out across the department, with everyone taking their portion home for iftar, and have it arrive in the morning slot on the last working day before the holiday. For other occasions, see gift ideas for colleagues.
A gift for an iftar invitation on Founding Day
For an iftar invitation on the holiday, the gift is flowers with chocolate. The flowers stay in the majlis and the chocolate is opened after iftar with the coffee. See flowers and chocolate, or chocolate and sweets if you want only sweets.
Order one or two days before the invitation, and the host picks the day of the invitation and the morning slot from the link before that day comes, so it arrives before Maghrib. Ordered on the invitation day itself, the earliest is the evening slot, which may arrive after Maghrib. For the other invitations of the month, see Ramadan gift ideas.
One bouquet for the month and the day
This year Founding Day falls in mid-Ramadan, so one bouquet covers both greetings. Send it to family or friends with a card for the month and the day, and they set the place and time in Riyadh and Jeddah. See congratulations flowers.
A vase for the family majlis over the school break
The school break runs from Friday 19 February to Monday 22 February. Families gather, the majlis is open every night in Ramadan, and a vase arrives arranged and greets the guests for days. If you are in another city, it reaches them in Riyadh and Jeddah and they set the address and time. See flower vases.
Founding Day gifts for children and the family gathering
Children are on holiday and love decorations, so balloons cheer them and dress the majlis before iftar, and a cake is cut for everyone after iftar with the coffee. Qarqi'an is expected on the eve of Founding Day in the Eastern Province and the Gulf, and if you celebrate it, a box of sweets to hand out to the children fits. See balloons and cakes.
Before you send
- Have the staff gift arrive in the morning slot on the last working day before the holiday, because Founding Day itself is a day off.
- For an iftar invitation, order one or two days ahead so the host has time to pick the morning slot and it arrives before Maghrib.
- We have no gifts made for Founding Day, so choose what suits the day and the gathering, such as sweets for the table, a vase for the majlis and balloons for the children.
- Do not know the address? Enter their mobile number and city only, and they get a WhatsApp link to set the place and time in Riyadh and Jeddah.
- The Hijri date is expected by the Umm al-Qura calendar and is confirmed when the Ramadan crescent is sighted, while 22 February is fixed every year.
