How to send a gift to family in Saudi Arabia from abroad
You can send your family in Saudi Arabia a gift from abroad, such as a vase of flowers or a perfume for your mother and father, without knowing their exact address or when they are home. If distance has blurred your sense of their taste, on Haddiyah you choose 2 to 8 gifts from where you are; the recipient in Riyadh and Jeddah picks one and sets the place and time from a WhatsApp link. All you need is your Saudi mobile number to sign in, and the recipient's mobile. A single gift arrives the same day when they set the location before 4 pm, Riyadh time. Some gifts need longer to prepare. The time is on each gift page.
For your mother and father
The gift sent most from abroad is for a mother: a vase of flowers that sits in her majlis and tells the guests her child has not forgotten her, or a perfume she wears. For a father, a perfume or chocolate for his majlis. They set the delivery time themselves, so no one is woken by the time difference. See gifts for mothers and for fathers.
For Eid while you are away
Eid away from family is the hardest day of the year for a student abroad, and a gift that reaches their house on Eid morning stands in for you: chocolate for the visitors, a perfume for your mother, or a vase for the majlis. Order it two days before Eid. See Eid gifts.
A birthday you cannot attend
If it is your sister's or your friend's birthday and you are away, cake and balloons reach the house on the day, or a bouquet reaches their office in front of people. Count in Riyadh time and order the day before. See birthday gifts.
A new baby in the family
A baby arrives while you are in another city or another country: an arrangement in the baby's colours or welcome balloons reach the mother's home at a time she sets, never at a time that does not suit her. See new-baby gifts.
Not sure of their taste after years away?
After years abroad tastes change. Instead of guessing, pick several gifts from one level and let them choose the favourite from the link. They see the gifts without prices; you pay half their average now and the rest after they choose, and it arrives from the day after their choice.
Before you send
- Count the time in Riyadh time, not yours: a single gift goes out the same day when the recipient sets the location before 4 pm.
- If you no longer know the recipient's taste after years away, pick several gifts from one level and let them choose. They see them without prices.
- Write on the card where you sent it from: 'from London, with love' means a lot to a mother.
- For occasions with a known date, Eid, Mother's Day, a birthday, order the day before so the time difference does not matter.
Frequently asked questions
Can I order from outside Saudi Arabia?
Yes. You sign in with your Saudi mobile and the code reaches you on WhatsApp, and you pay by card or Apple Pay from where you are. The recipient must be in Riyadh and Jeddah with a Saudi mobile.
I do not know my family's exact address. What do I do?
You do not need it. You enter the recipient's name and mobile only, and they get a link to set their location on the map themselves, and the delivery time that suits them.
How do I follow the order from abroad?
Every update comes on WhatsApp to you and to the recipient: link received, location set, being prepared, on the way, delivered. Before the recipient sets their location, you can contact us and we cancel the order.
Will my family know what I paid?
No. The recipient sees the gift, your message and your name only, or 'someone who loves you' if you chose to hide it, and never a price.
Ready to gift?
Ordering takes two minutes, and the recipient sets the place and the delivery time.
